From the rolling hills of central Louisiana, sculptor
Lavelle Evans begins with a large clump of natural clay
and will carefully shape by hand a life-size sculpture of
the crucified and resurrected Christ.
While the artist works with the clay, he shares with his
audience his own story of living in darkness and how
the light of Jesus Christ shapes and changes his life
day by day. His personal testimony, scriptural
background and art in-progress, supported with
beautiful music and specialized lighting effects, clearly
makes this an inspirationally moving experience.
Lavelle has shared the gospel in this unusual way with
thousands of people prior to performances of the
outdoor passion play "The Witness", in Hot Springs,
Arkansas, "The Louisiana Passion Play" in Ruston,
Louisiana, and has worked with "The Great Passion
Play" in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He travels
throughout the country carrying his sculpting
production to churches, organizations, community
events, stores, and sidewalks,
wherever the Lord leads him.
Artist Evans dedicates his life and talents to the service
of Christ. His ministry, Inspirational Art Ministries, Inc.,
is an interdenominational ministry utilizing the arts to
share the gospel. The presentation travels nationwide .
